Homes With RV Parking on the Oregon Coast: What to Measure Before Buying

Searching for an Oregon Coast home with RV parking? Check dimensions, access, hookups, surfaces, and property restrictions.

“RV parking” can mean anything from an uncovered gravel strip to a substantial covered structure with utility connections. Before relying on that description, compare the space with your actual vehicle.

Measure More Than Length

Record your RV’s overall length, width, and height, including equipment and attachments.

Then measure the parking area, entrance, gates, roof clearance, and narrow points along the approach. Consider space for opening doors, extending slides, accessing compartments, and walking around the vehicle.

A space can be long enough while still being difficult to use.

Check the Approach

Look at turning room, driveway slope, overhead branches, wires, and surface changes.

Ask whether you can safely enter and leave without using neighboring land. Investigate any shared access agreements that affect the route.

If practical and authorized, arrange a suitable way to confirm maneuverability before purchasing.

Evaluate Surfaces and Connections

Inspect drainage and the condition of the parking surface.

For electrical service, have a qualified professional confirm the outlet type, capacity, and installation. Investigate water and wastewater connections instead of assuming visible hookups are approved and functional.

Review Allowed Uses

Parking, storage, and occupancy are different activities. Investigate applicable local requirements and recorded restrictions for your intended use.

The fact that a vehicle fits does not establish permission to live in it, rent it, or connect it permanently.
